The Money Pit treasure has been out of reach for 200 years. Carlos Sheldon and his student assistant Laura Gates are determined to bring it up out of the hole and show that it wasn't just a legend after all in Jenn Rekka's Last Assault on Oak Island. With financial failures by treasure hunters abounding, it is becoming clear that Mahone Bay on Oak Island is home to one of the most extravagant hoaxes in history. However, where one treasure hunter has taken a wrong turn, another finds yet more mysterious discoveries that have been shrouded in myth and legend for two centuries. After finding a British admiral's wartime journal and discovering new information surrounding the Money Pit treasure, Dr. Sheldon and Lauren might just have found the right path to unraveling the mystery. Will one last stab at the Oak Island treasure reveal the truth or is it nothing more than a legend that has haunted treasure hunters and their backers alike?

Jenn Rekka has intertwined Last Assault on Oak Island with mystery and suspense enough to keep the reader turning pages and unraveling each set of clues. Each of the characters involved and the way in which they interact with each other as the pieces of the puzzle come together keep the reader engaged all of the way up until the end. Last Assault on Oak Island is a brilliant must-read for those who love suspense and mystery. The book will take you on a wild ride right up to the end.
