Of the millions of words I've written, never done a blog before, so bear with me, folks.
The Curse of Oak Island returns to The History Channel in November (2015, for those of us still stuck in past years). Listings vary, as do exact times and even months, but in the USA, November 10 is the long-awaited day to set your alarms and grab a non-cruncy snack to watch the Lagina Brothers and team battle Oak Island's "Money Pit" via 10X (or via the Swamp).
I say non-crunchy because you won't want to miss a word of possible mankind-altering, textbook-rewriting, change-everything-you-know-about-history treasure hunting and excavating. If you're new to the hunt, don't worry; The History Channel will recap things for you (wink-wink to those who've sat through the recaps for two seasons already).
The Money Pit on Oak Island is the world's longest running treasure hunt and enduring mystery, defeating everyone daring to sink a shovel and taking on all comers (presidents and celebrities, too). See the article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oak_Island. That's just a glimpse.
A quick search online will bring up all sorts of theories, excavation notes and timelines, and fiction. Read a few or many. The more you dig into this real-life, real-time mystery and treasure hunt, the more you'll be hooked.
I've been since the 1970s.
Search on, history, mystery, and treasure fans and fanatics. The answer is yet to see the light of day.
Unless the treasure is gone. . .
(Ooh, looks like that string of episodes with the Digging Deeper tacked on may include new footage (new to us, not the team), maybe updates on finds from the first two seasons. Sounds promising. I'm in...)
