Curse of Oak Island: Season 3 Episode 1

Wow.

Really . . . Just wow. If you saw the opening episode of Season Three, you know why the WOW. This season has new technology, new takes on the entire island (which may be one big piggy bank), and a new look down Borehole 10X.

I expected all this new-new-new spread out over three or four episodes, but we got it all crammed at us in the first episode. Lucky us!

A two-man team of experts, the Leonards from Trexas, bring new technology to Oak Island. With the equivalent to a land-penetrating MRI, the OI Team got images of wealthy hot spots all over the island. What kind of hot?

Diamonds. Gold. Silver. Rubies. I think I saw an Emerald marking.

And then there was the (sonar?) camera that trekked down Borehole 10X and took images that got rendered into 3D-like graphics.

What did it see?

Everything Dan Blankenship said he saw in the 1970s. The images gave us a better look at the cavern beneath the surface, including more definition to man-made posts, a chest-shaped box structure (that was according to one of the two men who used and read the sonar-thing -- a guy who worked on imaging the Titanic), and a headless body lying on the cavern floor amid the silt.

Yes, fans and hopefuls, this season is very promising indeed. I am so glad the Laginas and team let us come along for this adventure. (Just be careful, guys. Please.)

Looks like with this MRI-type of imaging equipment, there is more than one treasure spot.

Maybe nearly everyone's theories are correct this time!
